WOOT! What a fun night! Seriously we had the best time! Everything turned out really well and the audience was the best out of all we've had! Everybody did such a good job; we should all be so proud!
I also really felt my monoluge; compared to Thursday night's and I got my favourite line in with the Food Fight scene (bit of improv happening there also) so all was good.
It's so sad that was our last major Drama school performance ever, but it ended in such a good way :)

Thursday Night's Performance: Moderation
What a night.
What can I say, everyone did SO well! You all shined to the best of your abilities :) I can't wait to see the marks because you will all soar to new heights. With so little stuff-up's which weren't even recognisable (well maybe the cards but that's it :P) all is fine.
As for me, I can't say the same. Okay this is going to sound SO dumb but I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since it happened last night. I've been in a shithouse mood ever since it happened so sorry to all the people that have had to encounter that. Dunno if most of you are aware or not but when I came out to do my monoluoge last night my phone started to ring in my pocket. Sure it was on silent and all but it was vibrating.
This really fudged me up because I have spent months with this my monologue! I have worked SO hard to get this to look and sound SPOT ON and it's kind of like all that hard work was thrown away. All I could concerntrate on was my phone ringing. I couldn't show emotion, facial expressions, movement or make sure my lines were spaced apart; all I could do was say my lines and this TOTALLY SUCKED!
I must sound like a total whinger and it's almost like I can't even believe I'm thinking like this; but at the moment it's all I can think about. Everyone did so well so the fact that this is all I can think about makes me really selfish and I'm kicking myself for that. What's worse is I've had so many people ask me "Why wasn't your phone turned off" or "What was it doing in your pocket anyway" and "You could have used it ringing and improvised"? If I hear one of these things again I'll FREAK! I couldn't think and I can't turn back time and change this so I'll just have to deal with it.
Sorry you's had to hear all this shit but I needed to say it because it's driving me up the wall. Good luck with our last performance tonight; we'll all break a leg!

Wednesday Night Performance
Our first official performance was last night and even though there was the odd hiccup here anf there, overall IT WAS SPOT ON! The audience was larger than we were expecting which was good because it was originally like what 14 people?!?!
As for the performace, it went so well! I was really feeling what I was saying when it came to my monoluge and the fairytale scene sounded so great with all our yelling! Some people really showed their talent from what I saw (yah you know I'm talking about you Jamie and Kyle) and Luke showed his talents when it came to covering up mistakes! What would we do without him?
The only thing that got me was the belly dancing scene; not a laugh in sight. Dunno if it was the Year 12 audience we had or the fact that people just won't find it funny. AND WE HAD MEALS!!!! I got to east this YUM stuff but the second time it was the same stuff and it had gotten really really cold.
Moderators are gonna be on sight tonight and even though I'm nervous, I'm prepared for it because I know all of our hard work will be paying off soon :) See ya's all tonight and break a leg, but don't do that or I might laugh before calling for help... ROTFLMAO see ya!@

Performance # 1 - How Did We Go? I'll Tell You :)
AWESOME :)
Seriously we did so well today, even though the audience for the second half were kinda blah. First act was all good with laughs at the right spots. Audience participation worked well also.
As for the acting; spot on! Our projection with our voices was so much better. I noticed it with a few certain people, you know who you are. The feedback from Ms Mace was also handy because I used it and I really felt a huge difference personally! I also believed my monolugue; and my wolf/white rabbit lines!
There were also no hassles with costume changes and I noticed sound and lighting had really improved. Our behind the scenes people Bec, Josh, Ally, Shane and Ms Mace of course all put in 110% and were awesome so congrats.
I feel we should be fine and dandy (like sour candy) tomorrow night for our first official performance with stuff-ups limited for sure. Hope we can pull out one hell of a show for the audience :)

First Performance Tomorrow Night!!!
Okay, seeing as the last post was so short; this one's going to be a long one...
Our first performance is tomorrow night to an unknown audience, but it will be good practicem seeing as there are three more to come. I do honestly feel we are ready and there has been so much improvement made over the weekend thanks to our weekend practice :)
Sunday morning's actual rehersal didn't start until around 2:30 even though some of us were there at 10:30, but that was OK because when we did start it went smoothly (OK a bump in the road here and there). There are some scenes that could have a little more work (Food Fight just didn't run smoothly this time dunno why???) but we have the first Tuesday lesson to do that. Other than that, all ran well. Sound/lighting cues are never going to always be on time, but hey that's just how it is. We'd be lost with out our tech people so high-five to Josh! High-five to Bec as well because even though this is a stressful time, she's been keeping her cool and things are starting to work.
Props wise, I've decided to go out of my way to get a suitcase for the Dad. I feel that everytime I walk onto a scene I should have one, but I never do so I will have one by tomorrow. I've also got to remember the bunny ears I forgot on stage yesterday (sorry Ally :P) but I saw it as "Hey, I fogotten them once, I won't forget them again".
I really enjoyed the exercise yesterday when we all got to complement each other on our progress. I got the chance to compliment and congratulate everyone's success which made me feel really good. I appreciated what everyone said to me, with a few that really stood out. I really appreciated what Luke said because that really made me feel totally awesome! I reckon I might post what I said/or forgot to say on here:
Jenna: Like I said to you yesterday, your character development is brilliant. You have really breathed like into the girl and made her so realistic. I don't know if anyone could have done it any better! You have put in so much work over the past month!
Holly: Your monologues (I think there's like 2 or 3) are outstanding. The fact that you had to remember ALL those lines is one thing, but to bring in so much emotion is another and you ace it! Love it when your character looses it at the dinner table, I really believe you when you do!
Kyle: Wow, could anyone play a better brother than you? It's one thing to be a brother, which you are, but to bring that little extra something on stage and get it across to the audience is another and you have no problems there. Your monologue shows your true talents as well!
Adele: You really make it seem like you're trying to support this girl in her struggles and it really shows. The way you can make all your other characters seem so different is also top-notch! Gotta love your ducky voice too!
Luke: The Ringmaster was a role that you were born to play! From the moment you read the lines at our early early practices to last night, there has always been a sense of character development that has gone so far!
Phoebe: Whether it be the Counsellor or the Showgirl, your talents are always shown! I love it when you bring so much quirkiness (never mind the spelling) to "Jazz" and you're always making me laugh with the "disturbed" line!
Kiah: I really believe you are a GP when I watch those scenes! The fact that you can make me believe that shows that you have the "IT" factor when it comes to character development. I'm also happy to hear that your voice is back :)
Klunyk: Who else could pull of being a clown other that the one and only Klunyk! From the "yowza yowza" to when you need to be serious, it's all good. Hope the face paint works out in the end :P
Victoria: Another one of a kind that can pull of the clown factor. You're character is so different to Klunyk's and it shows. Your facial expressions really get me as well, there awesome! Gotta be proud of that!
Leonie: You have had the hardest job; creating a character, and you have done such a good job at it! You really make me laugh and even though sometimes it's not intentional, it's worth it! Loved the golf skit with Luke by the way, top stuff!
Jamie: Extend! Extend! Who else could make the Madame who she is today! You also make those ducky's who they are! Thanks for also making these Drama practices fun, dunno how I'd be with you not there???
Maddy: The voice is a character that really creeps me out, and I knew you could pull it off. What really gets me is your body movement, I don't think anybody has looked into their movements on stage like you have! Love the face paint too :)
Now to the "Behind The Scenes" people. What would we do without you???
Bec: Who would pull off being the stage manager other than you. It's such a hectic job and there's so much involved, so the fact that you can keep your cool and get the job done shows real talent! We appreciate everythign you have done :)
Ally: If you weren't here, we'd be in the nuddie on stage (well maybe not that extreme) but we'd be lost without you! Your costumes are sublime and you have put in so much effort! Be proud because we are!!!
Josh: What's a play without music, and with you gone it would be just that! Mr. Music man, I really thank you for all that extra help with music, and it's also gonna sound top-notch! You're a life saver when it comes to the music/tech stuff that nobody else would know how to do!
Finally...
Ms Mace: What can I say. You have the hardest job of all, making sure we don't make fools of ourselves on opening night! We all appreciate your help and support SO much and we couldn't have done any of this without you!!! Thank you for helping me develop my character because I would be nowhere without your extra help at those lunch times!!!
Okay that took like a whole study lesson to write!!! Hope all the performacnes go well; I'm sure they will :) Good luck and I'll see ya's all there!

Volunteer & Boyfriend
My other two characters haven't really been mentioned on this blog before, so I thought I'd do a blog dedicated to them.
Volunteer: He's your typical teenage audience member wearing those types of clothes you'd wear to a performance. He gets pulled out of the audience and is made a fool of, so that should be so fun to do, as well as a heck of a challenge.
Boyfriend: He is going to be your typical "cool" teenage boyfriend you see hanging out with those "pretty" teenage girls. This character isn't on for long, but I want to make him look completley different from the Dad.
Okay, that's about it. See ya's at the practice!

Progress...
Progress... that's what's been happening latley, progress. I'm really happy things are starting to look up but I keep on thinking is it a little too much, a little too late? The Sunday practice after Trinity Sunday was very handy because we did get some important things done:
1. We finished the play! We have finally covered every scene down to a tee so that's that! The final scene looked AWESOME! I also FINALLY got to do my monoluge which I've been hanging out for weeks to do now! Feedback said I nailed it so kool!
2. We started to run through the play with no stops! This was important because I feel the random stopping in the rehersal process has slowed us down and even though it's important, it could be a factor to why we are stressing with one week to go and we haven't had a full run through!
Things To Do This Week (The Final Week): Costumed will need to be up and running, Front Of House (which has Jamie, Jenna, Leonie and I) will also need to happen but what we talked about will need to be brought down a notch because I thought we were thinking too big. Our lines/cues will have to be spot on which is hard if you haven't been doing the scenes over and over again like I did with every other play I've ever been in. If we can nail these things by this week we might be able to make this miracle work :)
Dad: My character has been developed ALOT since my last few blogs. I think doing my monoluge to an audience got me in the mood to really stretch his character even further to places I didn't think he would actually go. I also have a few other characters to work on also:
Volunteer: Hah, that should be a funny one! How I'm not going to laugh while belly dancing will be a miracle!
Boyfriend: The first time I did this was yesterday and even though this character is on stage for like 20 secs, it needs to look real so I will be looking into that one a little more this week...
Wolf, White Rabbit, etc.: The fairy tale characters are coming along nicely as well. Sure I haven't spent alot of time creating their characters like the Dad but I will make them look believable and not just silly.
Well that's about it for now. We've got a few more rehersals here and there until week 6 to make this thing happen so lets pull out all the stops and make it work :) Knowlesey.

More Blogging To Do :P
Yeah I just thought I'd jump on here and do another random blog entry. The more I do the better so bring on the blogs!
Okay, we've got like 2 weeks before the performance and panic is starting to set it! Everyone is like OMG we have like 2 weeks to perfrom a miralce! That miracle would be to pull this thing off :) We do have a 4 hour practice tonight, plus the double we've got today which adds up to a whole lotta practice so fingers crossed we achieve some magic today!!!
The problems I talked about in the previous blog are settling down. Problem #2 (divide) hasn't been much of a problem this week so far because it seems we are all getting along and putting our differences behind us so we can get some work done which is KEWL!
As for character development, I'm working on it because I didn't do any acting yesterday and haven't acted since Friday so it's been like 5 days since I got Dad onto the stage so hopefully today will be a chace to take his character even further! I have been obderving my Dad recently and even though I wouldn't do my character on him, I have taken elements from his persoanlity. My Dad and I don't have the closest relationship, but he's still my Dad none the less.
Okay this blog has been long enough and it's like the first time I haven't gotten a pop-up from Mr. Philp from doing something wrong when I'm doing my Drama blog! Cool Bananas! See ya's all at the next practice and lets pull off this miracle :P Knowlesey.

What's on my mind atm...
Just thought I'd shout out what's on my mind at the moment because there's things I'm not saying at the practices so I'll say them on here.
1. I really can't see this play being ready in 2-3 weeks and that's the honest truth. We're all thinking it but nobody's saying it. If we all just put in 130% it will work but it's quite obvious that's not really happening at our practices. Jamie and I practiced some scenes outside when we werent on, and that should be happening all the time but it's not. It's hard though because some scenes (Food Fight, Masked, etc.) haven't even been touched upon which is frustrating...
2. The divide. Okay it's obvious and everybody notices it so why not point it out! The whispering and smirky coments are being made more frequently and I hate it when I'm the only one hearing them. It's stupid because our class is full of great people, so what's been going down is quite odd from our group. I don't need to point out or say what I've been hearing because some of it has been quite mean, so lets stop it all now and put it behind us!
3. Character Development. I've struggled to develop my character further because I haven't acted out the two major scenes he is in. Once we have done these scenes I can go further, but could it be too late seeing as the play is so soon??? Dunno if anyone is feeling the same way about this or not?
Okay, that's everything off my chest, and it feels good because it all had to be said. Now that's it out in the open, our group really needs to come together and do our best to put on a really good show because it's possible, but we really need to work for it!

More Character Development
There has been plenty of character developing with "Dad" over the past few weeks.
My sessions with Ms Mace were very helpful and it enabled me to make more out of my character.
Practices: Yeah, they are going okayish, but there have been hiccups here and there. Hopefully all will be good in a few weeks, but it seems so close and we have so much still to do!!!
Lines: I'll admit it. I don't know my lines of by heart, but I'm in the same boat as half of the class. It's so hard to get into the mindset to learn your lines but they will be down within a week, I PROMISE!!! Nah it's cool they'll be downm within a few days even!
Well, dats 'bout it. Cheers for reading this, see yous all in the next practice! Knowlesey.

Developing My Character
After working with Ms Mace at lunch, I've been able to develop my character a little more. Yesterday's session really helped because we went over my lines, mainly the long line at the end, and how to break it down and say it with real emotion.
I'm really happy with the progress we have been making, our practices have been very productive and everybody has been putting in 110% at all times so that's awesome! The after school practice yesterday also went really well so I'm sure they will continue to :)
The only real thing I need to work on is to look more like a husband when Holly and I do that tablo (have no idea how to spell it) thing. It was always going to be difficult and uncomfortable at first but we will get the hang of it in due time I'm sure!
Anywho, must be off. See ya's all at tonight's practice :P

Holiday Practice Tomorrow
We have our first Drama Holiday Practice tomorrow and it's a chance to see how people went with learning their lines over the holidays.
Don't worry, if you haven't got your lines down yet you're not the only one! I've looked at them a couple of times and read them with family members, but I don't know them off by heart.
Should be a fun practice tomorrow, it's great to catch up at school with your friends without actually doing any work (I don't consider practicing for a play as work because it is fun!)
See ya's all tomorrow! Knowlesey.

Family Relationships
Yesterdays lesson was very helpful because everyone in the family sat together and spoke about the relationships between out family. There was Me (Dad), Kyle (Brother), Holly (Mother), Jenna (Girl), Maddy (Voice) and Adele (Friend). Our group worked very well together as we established the relationships between our characters.
I'm feeling more confident with the role I've been given now. It will be a huge challenge, but I'm always up for a challenge. I'm also quite excited doing theatre in the round, should be heaps of fun :)
Anywho, catch you fellow bloggers later! Knowlesey.

Dad
That's the role I got and I'm pretty happy with that. I've played a few father roles over the years but this time I really have to put my head down and study the role of a father to get the best possible mark at the end of the year.
The full cast list was good, all the right roles were given to all the right people. Should be a great show with our very talented class. Can't wait to start it all :)

Little Shop Of Horrors (Bop she bop)
How good was the musical this year, everybody did a great job :)
I went to see it on Wednesday night, and helped out with Thursday's afternoon performance (I was the curtain man) and I had lots of fun! We've still got Friday's sold out performance to do though which should be fun fun fun!
The musical has so much talent though! Josh & Kira make a great on-stage couple, plenty of chemistry there :P Phoebe was really funny as the plant and she can really sing, along with Holly. The chorus girls were all great too, it was a great show!

Mirror Mirror Roles Revealed Today
We find out our roles for the play today, well they aren't set in concrete but we will get a basic idea.
I'm looking forward to seeing what I get because I'm clueless at the moment.
On another matter, I'm going to the musical tonight! Should be great because I watched Josh & Luke do one of the scenes and they were both great. I haven't seen the film though so I have no idea what it's about, should be good fun! Hope it all goes well!
The debriefing session about "Politley Savage" went well, even though I still have no idea what happened in that play! Our class is full of opinions and they are all really helpful, made me look at the play in a whole different way (oh no, now I'm rhyming, help!).
Okay that's enough for now. Ciao!

Politley Savage ... WHAT THE!?!?!
Yeah, as you can tell by the title I had no idea what that play was about.
The atmosphere was good, I liked the fact we got to walk around, but the play sucked.
It went from some ballroom to creepy puppets to some swamp. I don't know how they were all connected and I really don't care.
I hope we don't have to write a review on that now, because how can I write a review on a play that made no sense?!?!?
Anywho, catch ya later felloe bloggers! Knowlesey.

Roles I'm Interested In With "Mirror Mirror"
We've read most of the script now, and I've pin-pointed some roles I might be interested in.
1. THE BROTHER - This one would be good because I like the fact it's very realistic, and not as ecnentric as the other roles.
2. THE RINGMASTER - A big challenge and lots of work, but a role that does appeal to me. I reckon some of the others would be good at it as well though.
3. THE VOICE - I didn't get a chance to see what I'd be like as the voice, but I reckon I'd be good at it. It's a real challenge, but I'm always up for one.
Anywho, that's all from me. Catch you Drama bloggers next time! Knowlesey.

Good Old Drama Games
Yesterday's Drama lesson consisted of nothing but games, which was nothing but fun!
"Knots" is one game you love to hate because it's physically IMPOSSIBLE! We've tried it so many times, and failed so many times, but it is building our co-operation skills, and we are getting closer than ever before, literally!!!
"The Ball Game" which I don't think has an actual name, is more fun and less physical. Jamie's still scared of the ball, but she will get used to it. I hated the game to begin with as well, but now I like it.
"The wird in the manor of speaking" or whatever it's called game was also alot of fun because we confused Ms Mace, how funny is that! Watching Adele putting a baby to sleep while being "that particular word" was quite entertaining. I hope we get to play that game again.
These games aren't just for fun though, it's building our team working skills, wait that's not a good word for it, well you know what I mean anyway. Our class do work well together, but according to Miss Mace there are problems, and even though I know what they are, it's weird to see how much of a problem it can cause.
Anywho, that's enough for me today. Catch ya's later. Knowlesey.

First "Mirror Mirror" run through
Awesome :)
I really like the play! At first I was a bit weary of it because it seemed a little boring, but after reading through and acting it out I have really grown to like it! I didn't know it was going to be fun, while being serious!
Everyone did a great job of reading the roles. Kyle & Kiah were born to be the clowns, they had the class in hysterics! Victoria, Klunyk & Bec also did their parts well as the family members. Playing the stork was fun, I didn't known I was the Egyptian Stork within???
I haven't really pin-pointed any roles I want yet, I wanna go through the whole play before I decide. The stork would be a good role but I dunno if he has any other lines?
Anywho, feel free to post comments, that's cool with me :) Catch ya's later! Knowlesey.

Mirror Mirror
The play our Year 12 Drama class is performing this year is called "Mirror Mirror"
I haven't actually read the script yet but we did act out a small bit, and I mean small, today which gave me a basic, and I mean basic, idea of what the play's about.
I like it so far :) I haven't pin-pointed any roles I'd like to do as of yet. Kyle looked like he was perfect for the ringmaster, I think that's what he was called, and everyone else did their parts well too. Our group is working very well together.
Our class also has a new kid! Jamie, who's a good friend of mine, has joined our class and she fits like a glove! She got the hang of all the tough theory stuff even quicker than I did!
Back to the play, I can't wait to get the script and actually read it because it looks really interesting! Well, see ya's all in class :) Knowlesey

Oops, we were suppossed to do more than one of these things!!!
Nah I'm joking, I just didn't get around to doing one last week.
Drama's going really well, our group is really good. Everyone gets along really well!
The Jack Davis stuff was okay, little boring, but I managed to do the essay!
The games we've been playing over the past few lessons have been quite helpful, and working with different people has also been good.
Working with Klunyk & Maddy (or Maddie, I don't know how you like it spelt) was alot of fun. Our final product was awesome, yet you didn't get to see us get attacked by seagulls!!!
Drama is awesome and even though we've got more theory coming up, it's still all good!

First Blog Entry
Well this is my first entry and I dunno what to write really.
I guess I'll write about how the class is going. Really well :) I'm still getting to know a few people but I do know everyone's name which is a plus. I haven't been in a few of these people's classes before so I'm still getting to know them.
Our class worked really well together in the first week while we were playing the Introduction games. After a few weeks we will be better though.
OK I'm done, nothing else to say!
