Volunteer & Boyfriend

My other two characters haven't really been mentioned on this blog before, so I thought I'd do a blog dedicated to them.

Volunteer: He's your typical teenage audience member wearing those types of clothes you'd wear to a performance. He gets pulled out of the audience and is made a fool of, so that should be so fun to do, as well as a heck of a challenge.

Boyfriend: He is going to be your typical "cool" teenage boyfriend you see hanging out with those "pretty" teenage girls. This character isn't on for long, but I want to make him look completley different from the Dad.

Okay, that's about it. See ya's at the practice!

Progress...

Progress... that's what's been happening latley, progress. I'm really happy things are starting to look up but I keep on thinking is it a little too much, a little too late? The Sunday practice after Trinity Sunday was very handy because we did get some important things done:

1. We finished the play! We have finally covered every scene down to a tee so that's that! The final scene looked AWESOME! I also FINALLY got to do my monoluge which I've been hanging out for weeks to do now! Feedback said I nailed it so kool!

2. We started to run through the play with no stops! This was important because I feel the random stopping in the rehersal process has slowed us down and even though it's important, it could be a factor to why we are stressing with one week to go and we haven't had a full run through!

Things To Do This Week (The Final Week): Costumed will need to be up and running, Front Of House (which has Jamie, Jenna, Leonie and I) will also need to happen but what we talked about will need to be brought down a notch because I thought we were thinking too big. Our lines/cues will have to be spot on which is hard if you haven't been doing the scenes over and over again like I did with every other play I've ever been in. If we can nail these things by this week we might be able to make this miracle work :)

Dad: My character has been developed ALOT since my last few blogs. I think doing my monoluge to an audience got me in the mood to really stretch his character even further to places I didn't think he would actually go. I also have a few other characters to work on also:

Volunteer: Hah, that should be a funny one! How I'm not going to laugh while belly dancing will be a miracle!

Boyfriend: The first time I did this was yesterday and even though this character is on stage for like 20 secs, it needs to look real so I will be looking into that one a little more this week...

Wolf, White Rabbit, etc.: The fairy tale characters are coming along nicely as well. Sure I haven't spent alot of time creating their characters like the Dad but I will make them look believable and not just silly.

Well that's about it for now. We've got a few more rehersals here and there until week 6 to make this thing happen so lets pull out all the stops and make it work :) Knowlesey.

More Blogging To Do :P

Yeah I just thought I'd jump on here and do another random blog entry. The more I do the better so bring on the blogs!

Okay, we've got like 2 weeks before the performance and panic is starting to set it! Everyone is like OMG we have like 2 weeks to perfrom a miralce! That miracle would be to pull this thing off :) We do have a 4 hour practice tonight, plus the double we've got today which adds up to a whole lotta practice so fingers crossed we achieve some magic today!!!

The problems I talked about in the previous blog are settling down. Problem #2 (divide) hasn't been much of a problem this week so far because it seems we are all getting along and putting our differences behind us so we can get some work done which is KEWL!

As for character development, I'm working on it because I didn't do any acting yesterday and haven't acted since Friday so it's been like 5 days since I got Dad onto the stage so hopefully today will be a chace to take his character even further! I have been obderving my Dad recently and even though I wouldn't do my character on him, I have taken elements from his persoanlity. My Dad and I don't have the closest relationship, but he's still my Dad none the less.

Okay this blog has been long enough and it's like the first time I haven't gotten a pop-up from Mr. Philp from doing something wrong when I'm doing my Drama blog! Cool Bananas! See ya's all at the next practice and lets pull off this miracle :P Knowlesey.

What's on my mind atm...

Just thought I'd shout out what's on my mind at the moment because there's things I'm not saying at the practices so I'll say them on here.

1. I really can't see this play being ready in 2-3 weeks and that's the honest truth. We're all thinking it but nobody's saying it. If we all just put in 130% it will work but it's quite obvious that's not really happening at our practices. Jamie and I practiced some scenes outside when we werent on, and that should be happening all the time but it's not. It's hard though because some scenes (Food Fight, Masked, etc.) haven't even been touched upon which is frustrating...

2. The divide. Okay it's obvious and everybody notices it so why not point it out! The whispering and smirky coments are being made more frequently and I hate it when I'm the only one hearing them. It's stupid because our class is full of great people, so what's been going down is quite odd from our group. I don't need to point out or say what I've been hearing because some of it has been quite mean, so lets stop it all now and put it behind us!

3. Character Development. I've struggled to develop my character further because I haven't acted out the two major scenes he is in. Once we have done these scenes I can go further, but could it be too late seeing as the play is so soon??? Dunno if anyone is feeling the same way about this or not?

Okay, that's everything off my chest, and it feels good because it all had to be said. Now that's it out in the open, our group really needs to come together and do our best to put on a really good show because it's possible, but we really need to work for it!

More Character Development

There has been plenty of character developing with "Dad" over the past few weeks.
My sessions with Ms Mace were very helpful and it enabled me to make more out of my character.

Practices: Yeah, they are going okayish, but there have been hiccups here and there. Hopefully all will be good in a few weeks, but it seems so close and we have so much still to do!!!

Lines: I'll admit it. I don't know my lines of by heart, but I'm in the same boat as half of the class. It's so hard to get into the mindset to learn your lines but they will be down within a week, I PROMISE!!! Nah it's cool they'll be downm within a few days even!

Well, dats 'bout it. Cheers for reading this, see yous all in the next practice! Knowlesey.

Developing My Character

After working with Ms Mace at lunch, I've been able to develop my character a little more. Yesterday's session really helped because we went over my lines, mainly the long line at the end, and how to break it down and say it with real emotion.

I'm really happy with the progress we have been making, our practices have been very productive and everybody has been putting in 110% at all times so that's awesome! The after school practice yesterday also went really well so I'm sure they will continue to :)

The only real thing I need to work on is to look more like a husband when Holly and I do that tablo (have no idea how to spell it) thing. It was always going to be difficult and uncomfortable at first but we will get the hang of it in due time I'm sure!

Anywho, must be off. See ya's all at tonight's practice :P
